Tarun and Liz's wedding in Ravenswood

Our friends Tarun and Liz got married in a beautiful venue on the north side of the city.  Tarun and I have lots of mutual friends, so this wedding felt like a big reunion.

I was honored that Tarun and Liz asked me to read a poem during the ceremony.  I chose a passage from Tagore's Gitanjali.

Last minute review of the the poem while waiting for the train:

We love weddings that are a short hop away via train:

The wedding venue was an old billboard factory ...

... with sunlight streaming in from both sides through those fabulous giant windows:

Some of our crew:

Simple elegance:

They did the ceremony as the sun was setting, which was stunning.  Here I am getting nervous about my reading ...

The bride's arrival:

Friends forever:

The Wash U crew:

With the bride and groom:

T and his Mom:

I love this pic of me and Malini:

The Chandrans:

Somehow we convinced Nihal to get on the mic and sing Guns n' Roses' "Sweet Child of Mine."  It didn't take too much convincing.

His fans loved it:

As we were leaving, we discovered the first floor of the venue was an event space that doubles as a classic car museum! Pranav couldn't have been more thrilled:

Tailgating in Evanston for Michigan v. Northwestern

Another beautiful fall day. We met up with friends, grilled up chicken sausages and veggie sausages with all the fixin's (thanks for the tailgate grill, Pittsburgh Mom & Dad!), and Michigan won the game handily. Regardless, this was the first and last time Pranav and I were cheesy enough to wear these shirts at the same time.
