We knew we were in for a fun and festive few days during Pranav's birthday weekend.
We started the celebration Friday night with a husband & wife birthday dinner at Avec, a fabulous Spanish-inspired restaurant on Chicago's West Randolph restaurant row. We ordered small sharing plates of olives, burrata cheese with roasted beets and spiced pistachios, a lovely shaved fennel & grape salad, and roasted scallops. Yum! The food and ambience were perfect:

We then celebrated Pranav's birthday the evening after with friends and mini cupcakes at the Birthday Boy's favorite local hangout, the Pepper Canister. Salut!
